Ownership in Merriwood consists of two linked elements. The first element is the purchase of a specially designed and proprietary Merriwood Eco-home. The second is the buy-in to the Community and its shared resources and amenities. Specifically:

  • Your Home: Merriwood offers three unique models:

    • The Ironwood:      3BR/3BTH     2,916 sq. ft.

    • The Tamarack:      2BR/2BTH      1,716 sq. ft.

    • The Juniper:         1BR/1BTH         924 sq. ft.

*sf does not include outdoor living areas and unfinished basements


  • The Community

    • Joint ownership in perpetuity of the community assets including Merriwood Farm, renewable community power system, Sundragon Lodge, bathhouse and sauna, wellness center, medical equipment, 1,000 acres of land, 1.5 miles of lake frontage, docks, boats and vehicles, stored supplies and equipment, and an array of sustainability features and amenities. 

    • Full-time residency rights for six (6) people per lot. This means that the community will make appropriate arrangements to feed, house, supply with power, and provide other supports for six people for each home site and membership interest.  

    • Your deeded lot and home site from 1.00 to 2.75 acres. Only 44 total lots/homes sold. 

    • Membership and voting rights in the Home Owners Association.

​Home base-models range from $577,000 to $1,050,000. The Buy-In to the Community is an additional $1,000,000.

Home site selection will be a transparent ranked choice process with families ranking sites in order of preference. Your selected choices will be fulfilled in the order of your position on the Priority Reservation List, which corresponds to your Owner Priority Number. The Reservation List opens January 15, 2021.


The Merriwood team will work with holders of Priority Reservations to arrange tours of the site and the region in May of 2021. Site selection will occur shortly after. For informational purposes, home sites may be viewed on the maps in the Homes & Siteplan section of the website. Final maps, forms, and process details will be released prior to site visits.



There are only 44 homes available in Merriwood Sustainable Community and we anticipate demand will exceed supply. The Priority Reservation List is now open, which determines the order in which you will be offered an opportunity to buy, and the order for selecting home sites (lots). Site selection will be in the spring of 2021, and first home deliveries are anticipated to be in the fall of 2021.  

Securing a Priority Reservation will require a completed and signed reservation agreement and a fully refundable $25,000 deposit to be held in escrow.

Each Reservation will be assigned a chronological Owner Priority Number corresponding with the order in which the refundable deposit was received. The Owner Priority Number will entitle you to choose your home site (lot) in the order of your priority.
